New Zealand Internet Research Day

Collaborative Notes: Internet Research Day

New Zealand Internet Rights Survey – Professor Charles Crothers

This is a one day community focused gathering as part of this year’s NetHui, to be held in Wellington 8 July. The Internet Research Day will bring together an emerging community of Internet Researchers from around New Zealand.   All academic, industry, government, and consultant researchers are welcome to attend, to discuss internet research at all levels:  from highlighting particular Internet-related research topics, to exploring developing research initiatives, or to investigate funding opportunities.

The day will include presentations from InternetNZ-funded research projects on Internet policy and legal issues, a plenary discussion, break-out groups focusing on specific research topics, and a project to “Hack-a-Journal’ as a foundation activity of this Internet research network.

Introducing a research focused component as part of NetHui will provide valuable opportunities to engage with other researchers, as well as industry, government and the wider community on contemporary Internet issues and be part of a growing New Zealand Internet Research Community.
