Digital Inclusion Meetup

The 2020 Communications is hosting a digital inclusion “meet-up” as part of NetHui 2013. This event will provide an opportunity for people engaged in digital literacy initiatives to share experiences and meet with the Hon Nikki Kaye, who was appointed earlier this year as Associate Education Minister with responsibilities for e-learning and digital literacy. Our vision for New Zealand is one where everyone can participate in an increasingly interconnected and digital society. We believe that all New Zealanders should have affordable access to digital technologies, especially the internet, as well as the skills and confidence to use these technologies to advance their careers and improve their lives.

Our meet-up will start with brief statements from people who are already actively engaged in digital literacy initiatives and encourage participants to think of ways these can be expanded to reach all New Zealand communities.
